Minivan Adventures
We now own a minivan. The weird feeling went away already, and now we really like owning it. It isn't the car we would have picked out, but it was the right price and almost fell into our laps, so we bought it. It's a 1998 Chevy Venture (we own a Chevy? Is that even right?) that's almost brand new. Apparently they have driven the van nowhere and it only has 56,000 miles on it. It's an Extended LS, which means it's longer than the normal Venture, and LS means it has more dang buttons than we know what to do with. Like Miciah can listen to a CD in the back seat with headphones and we can listen to the radio up front. Cool, but, we're used to having to roll down our windows by ourselves. It's a little weird to be saying things like, "Look, you can push a button and it unlocks the doors. Look, it has cruise control. Look, there are more than three modes for the windshield wipers."
It's a dark green. Not the color I would have chosen, either. Actually, I kind of like the outside color, but it's a slightly different green on the inside, and the inside green is really awful. I just don't think about it and it doesn't bother me. I can't imagine not buying a car because of the color in our position. The people we bought it from bought a brand new Honda Odyssey, a nice car, but why, when you have a minivan already with only 56,00 miles on it? I dunno. But we appreciate the gift. :) And I'm sure they got the color they wanted.
Recovering with a Book
Anyways. Life here is okay. We have almost recovered from having Mom in town. The night she left I was asleep by 7:00 pm. The day after that Rob was sick all day and slept until noon (which was just fine since I had gotten so much sleep and was really awake). Today I've been sick all day and have spent a majority of the time in bed or wanting to be. But I've gotten some good reading in on the book Dad got me for Christmas (did he get it for everyone? I know he also gave it to Collin): Joseph Smith: Rough Stone Rolling. I have LOVED it, I'm 100 pages into it, I recommend it to everyone I see (as I tell them things like, "Guess what I learned about Joseph Smith, Sr.?"), and I'm planning on re-reading it immediately after finishing it, cause it's wonderful and jam-packed with information. As a suggestion, if you read it, don't skip the notes. There's a ton of information there.
