Back to Normal

We are back from our 5-week cross-country trek. It's nice to be back together as a family, though it's been an interesting transition for all of us getting used to each other and how normal life is.

We got back on July 4th late at night. I thought that since the kids went to bed really late, and they were on CA time still, they'd sleep in til at least 10 or 11. No, they were up at 7. ... Rob basically took the day off work because I was pretty out of it. That night our good friends fed us dinner (I invited our family over cause I knew I wouldn't want to cook and with good friends, you can invite yourself over for dinner, right? :) ) and we were off to P to go and see G!

G's Homecoming

G got home on the 4th. Rob was able to go see him for a little while, which was a surprise to G. Then, when we drove up to P, we didn't tell anyone we were coming. They were expecting us on Friday late afternoon. I wasn't anxious to travel too soon after coming home from CA, but I figured I could be exhausted anywhere, so why not P? We got there around 11:15 p.m. and sent Miciah in the door first. We told her to say, "Do you know where my parents are?" She told us, "I can't say that! They might think I walked all the way here!" We thought that was pretty funny. As it was, she just said hi. Everyone was awake and sitting at the table and they were pretty surprised, so that was fun.

I was pretty out of it until Sunday and slept a lot of the time, or if I wasn't sleeping, I was walking around like a zombie. The 2 older kids and Rob went to a lake and they loved that. There were pictures taken, but not with my camera. Whoever took the pictures has to send on the awesome one of C flying through the air. B was throwing the kids and there's a picture of C that's really fun.

Real Life

We got back home late Sunday night and we've been back in "real life" all week. It's nice to be back home and all that means. I had forgotten how hard it can be trying to get things done AND take care of 3 kids, but I think after another week or so, this will seem like cake. Right? :) Right.

Tonight we're going camping with 2 other families, and we're excited to go camping as a family. We haven't gone camping for a long time and I think Elijah is excited to see the campfire. He's already a fire-obsessed Boy Scout. :)

Well, here are some pictures for you guys. One of Rob and G. One of our family and G (check out how happy Tank is!). Two of Miciah all dolled up. JG did Miciah's hair and we did a photo shoot. And one of me dressed up, too. Jamie did my hair, too. I don't do my own like this. I don't do anything with my hair, actually, and I like it like that. But it's fun every now and then to remind myself that I look pretty dressed up.

We love you guys. It was good to see all the family and friends that we got to see. Sorry for those of you whom we didn't see. But we still love you!
