Labor Day Anti-Picnic Party Update

Yesterday we had a smashing Labor Day Anti-Picnic Party. We had fondu (which was AWESOME), a chocolate fountain, a punch fountain, corn on the cob (okay, so we had something picnic-y), and pumpkin pie. Just for the fun of it. We had a great Thacker family plus extended friend/family party. (There should be a name for people that are more than friends but not born family. Go ahead, someone make one up and I'll start using it. Maybe it'll catch on and get us all famous.)

During this party, Elijah and A walk out of Miciah's room all dressed up. Elijah was wearing a Sleeping Beauty dress and A had on Elijah's overalls, green golashes (sp?), and a gorgeous black little girl overcoat. Awesome. Elijah says, "Look Dad, I'm pretty." Oh, the pride swelling in our hearts. G the whole time was telling us how we needed to make him get out of the dress so he doesn't become a cross-dresser. Elijah stayed in the dress all day and actually got mad at us for making him switch into pajamas for bed. :) Just thought I'd send on some pictures for you all to love. Miciah got a calendar of September at school. She wanted to put it up and I told her she could in her room. So, on her own, she put up the calendar, then devises her own way to put her pen in close reach. She got a little medicine cup and taped it to the wall. I told her I didn't think it would work. She looked at me and said, "Mom, I tried it out before I put it up." I had to take a picture because I thought it was pretty darn clever. ... She has also been crossing off days as they go by (something I'm personally anal about with my calendar). It's cute.

... We also bought High School Musical. I like it. It's weirdly addicting. ... Miciah has now watched the same song/dance sequence 5 times in a row. Maybe I'll be sorry I bought it. :)

Speaking of addicting, GO SEE HAIRSPRAY! It was awesome and funny and addicting and I think I'm having an emotional affair with the lead girl in it. She so sweet! Go see it. You'll love it.
