Olympics Junkie

I'm an Olympics junkie. It's the only time EVER that I will turn on the TV, just to see what's on. Our TV (except for PBS kids and movies we own) has been off since summer started--my evenings are too valuable to spend them zoned in front of the TV for hours.

But all that changes for 2 weeks every 2 years. The Olympics!!! What an event! There are reasons upon reasons why I love the Olympics. The competition is amazing, of course. But the Olympics is a coming together of countries. That flag and what it symbolizes. The spirit of cooperation, unity. The flag may be the ONLY truly international flag there is. Stand aside United Nations, you have nothing on the Olympics.

And I'm writing this post to tell you that if you missed the 4x100 relay last night, YOU MUST WATCH IT!! They're calling it the most amazing relay in swimming history. It was incredible. Not enough superlatives to describe it.

Watch the race!!
