They are funny stories. They just weren't funny at the time.
When I was telling Rob about the blog post I realized that there are SO MANY Miciah the Tyrant stories I could have told. In fact, I forgot our favorite of all time! One last Tyrant story:

| Miciah on her 2nd birthday |
She was 2 years old. She would bang her head on the bars of her crib when she was mad. I don't know what point she was making, other than that she was really, really mad. We were grateful that she had bangs to cover her forehead which was a constant bruise in various stages of healing. Sometimes we would show it off to people who we knew would understand that we didn't abuse our daughter.
Rob decided it would be better if she was out of the crib, so she couldn't bang her head against the crib bars, but we couldn't afford a toddler bed. We took the crib mattress and laid it on the floor, and she preferred that. Still, as I suspected, she continued banging her head. Only now on the floor instead of crib bars.
That's the set-up. One evening we had a friend and his fiance over for dinner in our tiny apartment. Miciah did something that was unacceptable and we put her in her room for one of many time outs. She was screaming. Rob and I sat at the table unfazed. Our guests looked at us somewhat nervously as we explained that Miciah did this often. Suddenly the screaming changed and seemed more intense. I decided not to react - she wasn't fooling me! Rob went in to check on her and came out with a bloody Miciah. She had banged her head on the floor just right and given herself a bloody nose!
Rob cleaned up her nose in the bathroom and put her back in time out. Our guests were horrified. I calmly said, "I refuse to feel bad about this. This is not my fault. Miciah did this to herself."
When they left for the evening I thought, "They'll never have kids."
(The upside to the story: She didn't bang her head as much after that.)
