Miciah, the Negotiator

In recent posts, Elijah has been a literary master and Teancom has been a biologist.  Miciah's getting older and becoming a well-rounded, beautiful person, so she's harder to peg.  She's funny, she's goofy, she's smart, she's whiny (but getting better--Elijah's taken over the Most Whiny Child spot), she's amazing.  But I thought this recent example gives a good perspective into who our Miss Miciah is.

On a rambling weeknight.
Miciah:  I need a new toothbrush, Mom.
Me:  No, you don't.
Miciah:  Yes, I do.
Me: Why do you need a new toothbrush?
Miciah:  Because mine is getting old.
Me:  It's fine, Miciah.
Miciah takes a deep breath and then says:  Health care professionals - like dentists - say you should change your toothbrush once a month, and I've had the same toothbrush for like 6 months!

How do you respond to that, I ask?

A week later she retrieved a toothbrush from our stash of new and unopened ones.  Problem solved.

haha. That's true, you are supposed to change your toothbrush often. Hope her new toothbrush is everything she hoped for. (:
