* We've been "approved" to go scream WE'RE DEBT FREE! on the Dave Ramsey Show! We'll be on during the 2:00 hour (Central Time) on Friday, March 29th. We'll bring our kids down to Nashville with us - they were sold when we told them the hotel has a swimming pool.
* The date for graduation from Cincinnati State is now set (and no longer tentative) for May 5th, 3:00. And I will be having a massive party on May 4th, 4:00, my house. You're all invited! (Details to come.)
* Elijah has lost his new glasses. We're hoping they surface again soon.
* I signed up to take the first part of my interpreter Certification exam pretty soon after graduation. The date for that isn't set yet, but if I have my way, I'll take it on my birthday - early June. We took a practice exam in class, and I passed it fairly easily (and was the only one in the class who passed). I feel confident that with a little more studying, I'll have this in the bag. (The Certification process has 2 parts. Part 1 is a 150 question pass/fail mulitple choice exam. I will know immediately if I passed it. And I better pass, since it's costing me almost $300. Part 2 is the performance part and involves them watching me sign and deciding if I'm any good. I have to take it within 5 years of part 1, so that gives me a timeline for earning my batchelors. Also, my birthday gives me an easy-to-remember deadline.)
* Elijah has been using a bedwetting alarm for about a week, and it's working great! I was skeptical, but it's been a good experience. Though I have to admit that on day 1, when he woke up twice in one night, and I woke up once in the middle to go to the bathroom myself, so I didn't sleep longer than 2 hours at one stretch, ... I was back in Total Exhaustion Mode, like when I had a newborn. It was not pretty. It just so happened that we started it when Rob was out of town, which I realize now was a mistake. We made a deal that when he's home, he has Alarm Duty. ... We wake up, help Elijah realize the alarm is going off, and assist him with changing underwear and stuff like that. Already he's had a dry night (probably the first one for him EVER), and he usually is awake before we get to him. Super score! Highly recommend.
* School is going really well for me - my most recent feedback for projects have gone swimmingly. Not to say that I'm breezing through my classes, but I'm in the home stretch and things are good. My ASL class that I'm taking Independent Study is actually ending tomorrow (glory be!), and I've aced it. Basically, repeat those same results for all my current classes. ... I have one major project left, and any part of it that I don't pass must be re-taken until I do pass it. I'm not too worried about most of it, but there's one part of it that most students fail, so I'm just counting on failing that portion. I'll be taking it in the next few weeks, so wish me luck!
* I have some other AWESOME news that isn't share-able yet, but when it is, you guys will be so happy for us! :)

I didn't realize that a parent also had to wear the bedwetting alarm...
Haa haa haa...
Such happy posts! I'm genuinely thrilled for you and the rewards/blessings you're receiving as a result of such diligence :)
Thanks, Betsy! You're very sweet.
Other exciting news? Are you pregnant? That's what I'm going to assume it is. :) How awesome about the Dave Ramsey thing! How did you get to do that? Jared and I paid off 72K worth of debt in 3 yrs...do you think we could go on the show?
Glad life is going so well for you guys! we'll be at the grad party in spirit. :)
Ha! No, I'm not pregnant. I should make that it's own blog post. :)
We got to go down to Dave Ramsey's show because we've been doing his plan for years. We took his Financial Peace University class 4.5 years ago, and because of that started paying down our debt. So when we finally finished, we submitted our request to go onto his show. Nearly everyday people go down to do their scream (or call in).
Also, I'm SUPER impressed with your 72 thou in 3 years pace. That's awesome! Doesn't it feel great to get out from under that?!
