Once Every 28 Days

Once every 28 days, give or take 3 days, I ask Rob a series of questions. "Do you hate me?" "What's wrong with me?" "Do you like me?" "Am I crazy?" "Is there something wrong with me?" and "Do I ask this EVERY month?"

Rob is always very supportive of these lame questions. Clearly he can not be fully "understanding", but he is sympathetic. He hugs me and lets me talk to him about the same round of crazy crap late into the night.

This time, though, we made some headway. After asking him if I ask this every month, he said, "YES! Do you want me to record it?" I laughed about that and then thought, "Maybe we SHOULD record it." I bet that every month, not only do I ask the same series of questions, I also ask them in the same pathetic tone!

He then said, "Do you really forget every time that you asked all these questions last time?" I thought about that for a second, too, and then said, "No, I don't forget. But it seems so incomprehensible to me that every 28 days for a 3-day time period I turn from completely normal Tamra into crazy, insecure, emotional Tamra who really would like to kill something! And then, after those 3 days, I'm completely normal again."

His response? "Welcome to the start of what 9 months of pregnancy is like."
That's not an announcement. He was just comparing what I was feeling/acting like right then to the way I feel/act when I'm pregnant. And this is why we have no plans for pregnancy in the near (or distant) future.

I have decided we should NOT record my series of questions. Because normal, sane, non-hormonal Tamra has NO UNDERSTANDING of what the crazy Tamra is like. Not only do I not "get it" for 25 days, I think it's seriously pathetic! I would listen to that recording as a normal person and think, "I am the STUPIDEST PERSON KNOWN TO MAN!"

... I listened to a funny marriage seminar guy who said that testosterone "drives men crazy!" I don't believe this for a second--I think men quite enjoy testosterone. But if there's ever a man out there who really DOES feel like you've taken all you can take and testosterone will just "drive you crazy", I suggest a trade. I'll take your testosterone and you can have my estrogen. We'll see which of us goes crazy.

Hilarious! I turn into crazy, pathetic Molly for only about a day. And it's usually just at night. If I were smart, I'd see it coming and immediately go to bed (sleep cures it pretty quickly for me), but since I'm not in my right mind, I stay up and get more and more grumpy until I pretty much lose it. Then I wake up super happy! Ahhh, to be a girl. Our poor husbands.

So true, so true! Especially the part about pregnancy and 9 months of craziness. Hence, the look of terror in my eyes when people say, "Your kids are getting old, when are you going to have a baby?"

Tamra, you had me laughing so hard. I have to day, however, that Rob was right. 9 months of pregnancy hormones is much worse!!
