What now?

My mom went home today. Sort of.

We left for the Dayton airport at 3:20 p.m. Her flight left at 6:10 p.m. Plenty of time for us to get there, right? RIGHT?!!

Well, not when we're stopped in traffic, going 5 mph (that's WHEN we were going) from 3:40 until 5:20. That whole time we did not go over 10 mph ONCE.

But all is well, I guess. She's on a standby flight tomorrow morning at no extra charge. Right now she's at a hotel across the street from the Dayton airport, just so we don't have to make that drive again.

... As we drove up to the airport, arriving at 6:20 p.m., I thought, "Did it REALLY just take us 3 hours to get to the Dayton airport?" Yes. Yes, it did.

And I drove home in 1 hour and 5 minutes. Driving the speed limit.
