To kick off our Kirtland trip over Labor Day weekend, we stopped at Rob's lab. He had to get some work done, so the kids and I went on "adventures" through some green area on UC campus.
We found some leaves that were silver, and they enchanted Miciah. We found some seed pods with little black seeds in them. And we found these strange berries:
It was off a tree growing in (or near?) the Medicinal Herb garden. I picked a few because, to my surprise and despite their prickly look, they were squishy! Miciah broke one open and there was a soft orange-ish fruit inside. Made me want to eat one, just to see. I didn't, of course. But I wanted to.
Does anyone know what these are?
