Elijah and the Haiti Earthquake

Elijah came home with this to say about the Haiti earthquake:

"Mom, usually there's this island and usually there was a big earthquake and usually there was a lot of people who died and usually there are boats taking them things like shampoo and soap and usually we're collecting things for them.  It's very sad."

Fortunately, this earth quake is NOT the usual sort of thing that happens.

The kids' school is collecting hygene items to donate, which is great, though I've heard the thing that's most helpful is money.  Still, encouraging my kids to donate to people they have never heard of or seen before, that can't be a bad thing.
