Not writing in this blog for a while has freed up my time so that I could do lots of other things that I didn't do anyway. This is success in its truest form.
Miciah
We finished reading The Hobbit together. It was fun and she said she liked it. For a break from adult stuff we're now reading that Diary of a Wimpy Kid book that I mentioned a few blog posts back. A lot of the humor is over her head, but I think it's HILARIOUS, and she thinks it's funny anyway.
Elijah
Elijah has been calling people old lately. He started calling Rob "old man", which I've reported on before. What I didn't tell you was that shortly after that he started calling Teancom "old man," too.
Today he started saying "old God." To no one in particular. I told him that we don't say that. He said, "Well, God is old, isn't he?"
I told him that, either way, God's age was beside the point.
Also, we saw Garrett and Mandy over break, which thrilled all of us, but especially Elijah because he's got a crush on Mandy. (Previously, Garrett told Elijah that he was in fact married to Mandy and hence had shot Elijah's chances and Elijah told Garrett that he was simply not okay with that.) I asked Elijah if he thought Mandy was pretty. He said yes. Then I asked him if she was the prettiest girl in the world. He said she wasn't. I said, "Oh, well, who is?" He said, "Mommy." Awwww.
Teancom
Tank figured out that nail polish comes off when you suck your fingers. He was unhappy about that, and so he wanted the nail polish taken off altogether, which made Rob happy. Then Teancom was unhappy that the nail polish remover taste lingered so long. Can't win for losing, apparently.
Why did he have nail polish on in the first place?
The sign on the door behind him says, "What we do. Makeup, Nails - toes, Masage. Open. Open." Girl cousins rock the house. (And those are 2 different colors of nail polish: pink and red.)
Both the boys looked like they'd been beat up. Here's Elijah:
And here's the scene inside the bathroom/business:
They all thought they were SO beautiful, even the boys. (We are raising balanced boys who aren't afraid to be pretty.)
Things have been crazy but good with the holidays and I'm still not motivated to post a Christmas or Year in Review blog. I'm sure the desire will strike me sometime mid-January. That's how it usually goes.
