An Old Post

Last night I was re-arranging the filing cabinet and I found a post from June 2007.  It was an update that I wrote in e-mail form while I was on a 5-week trip to California and Utah.  Just me and the 3 kids.  ...  I'm sure that's why the e-mail was still around, because I saved all the e-mails I wrote as updates in an electronic format on my computer.  But this one was in CA, so I couldn't save it electronically.  Hence the paper copy.

But I never transferred it over to the blog (I transferred every electronic update.  Yes, it did take me weeks to do.  Yes, it was worth it, because the electronic forms have all been corrupted and if I hadn't transferred them, they would now be lost) since it was in hard-copy format and had been filed away for some reason or other.  I just transferred it today and put it in its rightful place as a blog post dated June 24, 2007.

I mention all this because I wanted to share this paragraph from the kids playing at the beach.  It made me giggle:

Elijah chased the waves the whole time.  For the hour, maybe, we were there.  He would chase them out and then, when they were coming in, he'd run away.  He came to me once and said, "Mom!  The water get me!"  I told him to go get the water.  He ran off chanting, "Get water.  Get water."  And did it all over again.  For the boy that loves the game of "Get me! Get me!" and then he chases you back, this was the perfect place!  Elijah didn't really play much with Collin and Miciah, he was pretty much doing his own thing chasing and being chased by waves.  But if Collin went into the water a little bit with Miciah, Elijah would yell at him until he came back.  Obviously he's enjoyed having Collin around.

Super cute.
