An Update Already!

I suppose it's been long enough that an update is in order.  Let the boringness commence!

Rob
Not much to report here.  He's teaching a bunch of classes on the side, and I think he's ready for it to be summer so he can get a break.  We recently went over our schedule and we now have something going on for one of us every single weeknight.  From here until June.  Happily, we're all handling this WAY better than we were last April when I wanted to burn down my house and/or leave my husband, and Rob wanted to gouge his eyeballs out.  This year it's been, like, pleasant.  Not sure how that's working, but I'm not complaining!

Evidence of Rob's lack of going-crazy:  Saturday morning sword fights:

Tamra
I start class on Thursday, which is exciting.  It still feels weird, though.  I'm sure it'll feel less weird after I've done it a few times.

Pretty much nothing else is going on in my life.  Oh!  I did have a ton of fun with Tamra's Rumor-Starting Status Update Week on Facebook.  Now that it's over, FB seems like the same old boring place.  Here's some of the rumors, some started by me and some started by others:

I am moving to CA.  Or to the Florida Keys, where we bought beach-front property.
I am pregnant with twins.
Rob lost his job.
Our house burned down.
We bought a goat.
Our dog died.
I have a medical condition.  Possibly cancer, but it's hard to tell.
Rob is a cross-dresser.
We bought a BMW Z3.  My dream car (that part's true).
I am to star in an upcoming episode of Hoarders.
We're adopting.  Adopting 2 mice from Rob's lab.
I dyed my hair blue.

Super fun.  I highly recommend doing your own Rumor Week.

Better than finding money in your coat pocket:
Finding a plant that you forgot about planting.  I know this picture doesn't look like Joy, but trust me.  It is.

Miciah
She's still doing piano and I think she's liking it now that she's better at it.  She's on Level 2, which is further than I ever got.  She's not a fan of practicing, but I'm not sure there's a kid who is.  ...  At school, during music class, she told a friend that she plays the piano.  The music teacher let her play a song for everyone to hear.  I think Miciah really liked showing her friends her piano skills.

Not much else to report here.  She's a great kid.

Miciah made this at school:

It's a butterfly made with the shapes of her feet.  Kinda clever.

Elijah
He's started baseball.  They've only had a few practices so far, but so far he likes it.  Funny, though.  He was playing catch with Rob in the backyard and Rob was trying to tell him how to catch the ball.  "Don't close your eyes."  "Keep your glove open."  Stuff like that.  And one of the balls smacked Elijah in the face!  He had a decent bruise for a while.

I think Elijah really enjoys that his dad is helping coach his team.  And I really enjoy watching Rob coach.  He's in his element out there.  Not that Elijah isn't fun to watch, but you know how it is.  Baseball isn't really fun at this age (or most ages, in my opinion).

This is a paper that was supposed to come home to the parents, and this is how Elijah decorated it:

And this is also why I don't post a ton of his artwork.  It's very ... well, it's very very.  Often it'll be so very that it will end up all one color.  You can see that he drew stuff, but it's lost behind the very-ness of it all.

Teancom
He's still Teancom.  We recently took him in to get his Kindergarten medical screener, which makes Kindergarten seem like a potential reality.  Weird.

He has been more friendly lately, especially with kids.  We went to the park a few weeks back and he found 4 or 5 kids to play with.  I know that doesn't sound like much, but for Teancom it's huge!  After Miciah was home from school he told her, "I made some new friends at the park today!"  Miciah said, "I do that all the time."  She does, of course, and she always has.  But for Tank this is something new and exciting.  A whole new world is out there.

Here's a painting he did at the Children's Museum:

I thought it was kinda cute.

And that's life here.

Great update! So what do you guys do during the summer if Rob has it off? Does he have to get a side job or something? Also, what what this you mentioned about YOU starting class? Do fill me in! I'm rarely if ever on FB; the only time I get on there is to put something like "I'm pregnant!" so I guess I missed all your "rumors." :) I'm so gullible though, I'm sure I would have fallen for all of them. ha! Also, good to hear your boys are not competitive. My brother competed really bad with my oldest brother, and I know that Todd competed quite a bit with Jared, so I just felt a little leery about it, ya know? But it's always so nice to hear people's success stories, so thanks!
