Miciah's Book

On Saturday Miciah brought us a book she wrote. I was impressed that she'd come up with such a cute book all on her own, and I knew that there was a contest out there for young writers. Reading Rainbow puts it on every year, and I never worry about it, but how often does your kid write their own story? So I looked up details and printed off the forms and rules, only to find out that the contest had closed on Friday, the day before.

I'm not sure what it means when your kid, completely unprompted and entirely on her own, creates a book, only to find out that the deadline for a book contest had closed the day before. Something about fate, and I don't know what the moral of that story is.

Anyways, since I couldn't enter it into a contest, I thought I'd post it here on my blog. Cause it's cute! I'll post the pages and after each one I'll post the text, preserving her spelling, so you don't have to strain for the writing. (The scanning process skewed the colors a little. The worst was the blue color. It became purple. So when you see purple, think blue.)
You should also know that Miciah is deathly afraid of Spiders. They quite possibly could be the scariest things on the planet, to her.
