Miciah's cast is off!! They took the pins out, and we have in our possession both the pins and the cast. Pretty cool. Elijah came upstairs a few hours later saying he'd broken his arm and showing me his cast. I can tell this is going to be a fun game.
Miciah's arm is stiff. She's been peeling off the dead skin all day. And in general, she's milking this for all she's worth. She convinced Rob that she should stay home from school today. Notice that I was ready to send her. She was playing a computer game and laughing and singing and I thought, "She's FINE." So I mentioned that I thought she was feeling well enough to go to school and immediately she winced and said, "Ow!" I rolled my eyes.
She has a bandage on her arm, since it was bleeding quite a bit where they'd taken out the pins. But we'll take the bandage off on Sunday morning and she can finally take a shower!! She's excited about that, and so am I. Sponge baths aren't much fun for the one giving them.
So hurray for Miciah! She goes back in 4 weeks to get another x-ray and just to make sure things are still healing well. The x-ray today showed lots of new bone growth, so that's fantastic.
It's crazy to think that she broke her arm just at the start of this month!
