5 Examples of Why Tank is Adorable

Example 1:

I was carrying about 15 library books and 2 movies to the car, so I asked him if he could help carry 4 movies.  Of course he was willing.  When we were almost to the car, and the movies were slipping out of his hands, he said, "I wish you could hold my hand."

What 3-year-old WANTS to hold his mom's hand across the parking lot?

Example 2:

Dinner time.  Tank was pretty adamant about wanting the end piece of the loaf of bread (homemade bread, even.  I know.  But, seriously, this bread is addicting).  So I gave it to him.  Then Elijah was sad because HE didn't get the end piece.  I tried to talk Elijah out of wanting it, but he was unconvinced.  So I said, "Tank, do you think that you could switch pieces of bread with Elijah?"

And without missing a beat he said, "Oh, sure!" and handed over his coveted end piece.

Example 3:

Miciah wanted me to watch the latest Tinkerbell movie with her, but I was exhausted from staying up too late watching the Olympics.  So I told her I needed to take a nap.  She said, "But I want SOMEone to watch a movie with me!"  Tank was watching Elijah play Zelda on the computer.  I suggested that Miciah ask Tank to watch with her, even though he'd seen it with her a few days before.  She asked him and Tank said, "Oh, sure!" and immediately sat down next to her to watch.

Example 4:

Tank is clingy at church, and loves to monopolize my attention.  Fortunately the other kids are old enough that this arrangement works.  Often about the time I'm thinking that Tank should be getting big enough to sit next to me instead of on my lap, he'll hook his arm around my neck and say, "You're the best mom ever."  And then I melt.

Example 5:

Tank loves to cuddle and he always lets me smother him with hugs and kisses.  It's wonderful.  And while holding him tight I usually initiate a conversation like this:

Me:  Will you be my baby cakes forever?
Tank:  Yeah.

I eat it up.  (You would, too.)

(The downside to this kid is that he's so cute and easygoing that he's spoiled.  It is his life goal to watch 3 movies a day while cuddling on my lap and eating fruit snacks.  He's an aspiring couch potato!  ...  I often have to make him scream because he doesn't want lunch, he wants candy/crackers/chips, and he doesn't want to sit at the table to eat lunch anyway.  What's wrong with a sandwich every now and then, I ask you?!)
