Things

The weirdest thing happened right this second:  I felt like writing a blog post!  I thought I'd jump on it while it lasted.

Things have been crazy around here lately, but that's okay.  It makes me appreciate the slower times.  Short re-cap:

Went to Seattle.  Brought Dea, Miciah's 9-year-old twin cousin (think Patty Duke), back with me.
My Mom and my niece, Dylan (who is delightfully crazy), spent 2 weeks with us.
My Uncle Rick's been gravely ill.  I posted about him a few days ago.
Volunteered at St. Rita (School for the Deaf) Festival and got water dumped on my head for 4 hours.  Good times.  Got class credit for it.
Rob went out of town for a scientific conference in Maine.

I'm sure I'm missing a few things.  But that was what was happening around here.  In the meantime, amidst our family near and far:

3 kids deathly ill with e coli.  No joke.  We took the 2 older sisters who were fine, thank goodness, for a week.  It was great fun and I have pictures to post.
2 other kids sick with pneumonia.
Baby born (RB, you count as family), and one on the way, due any minute.  Not the same person, obviously.

And during all that, I've been teaching Gospel Doctrine (though not well.  Honestly, I should have just found a sub for Sunday's lesson), going to ASL class, doing my on-line computer class, taking care of 4 kids, and re-evaluating my life and time.  We've put in a new action plan to control Elijah's craziness, and I'm happy to say that it's working great.  And I've broken down a few times because I can no longer find the time to do all my chores.  Outsourcing is the answer.

And that's my life in a nutshell.  Funny enough, for as crazy as it's been, I like it.  I've had to create a new sense of balance, and the adjustment has been rough at times, but I can see that it'll all even out.  Life is good.
