Five weeks ago my Uncle Rick was in a motorcycle accident. He was in the hospital for almost 3 weeks but it didn't seem to be that big of a deal. We razzed him for not wearing his helmet, for owning a motorcycle at all, you know, all that stuff you razz your favorite uncle about. He came home and we all shook his hand (gently - he was still slow-moving, what with his 8 broken ribs, broken collar bone, and shattered shoulder blade).
Unfortunately, the tale forgot to end at the happily part.
3 days later he was back in the hospital. His kidneys were shutting down and he was having trouble breathing. He's been in the hospital this time for almost 2 weeks, in and out of consciousness. They have him heavily sedated, he's on a breathing tube, and his kidneys have completely shut down. He's showing little to no improvement. His family is understandably quite concerned. He'll look like he'll make it through one day and then it's a little sketchier the next day.
I happen to live 2 doors down from Uncle Rick. This Uncle Rick:

If you're the praying sort, I wouldn't mind at all if you could send a few prayers his way.

Oh my goodness that is AWFUL! I am so sorry. How scary! We will def send some prayers his way. He looks like the sort of uncle who is so cute with his nieces and nephews.
Thanks, Chelle. He's pretty great with the kids. I'll do some follow-up posts when there's something to post about.
Rob was able to go give him a blessing, and that helped give a sense of calm. It's been appreciated by all.
